Finally on new TPG 8mb plan

On 31/1/11 my tpg 8mb plan finally became active.
When I called them they confirm it became active on the day and then I transferred to another department to setup the modem/router.

The change is speed is really good even though I didn't get my first choice which was adsl2+.
8mb adsl is pretty good compared to 1.5mb before.

I can download at about 800+kb for hosting sites and almost 1mb for some http sites.

The change is quite good now cos:

I get more data 200gb total (100gb peak/offpeak each) so I don't need to worry about downloading during peak as much compared to before of 12gb peak.
I can download about 7 to 8 times faster means youtube less buffering problems unlike 1.5mb speed.

The change is not as big as going from dialup 56kb to 1.5mb speed (28x faster) but it is still significant change.

Ideally adsl2+ is better but

Tafe lidcombe

I also went to tafe lidcombe to check out the course for Diploma in Networking.
I plan to go back to tafe to get the qualification and knowledge because being out of work for a year now. Soon I would be forced to do the "work for the dole" etc..in 1 to 2 weeks time.

Might as well spend it doing something useful like get some qualification.
It also gives me time to get fraxel.
