Rowdy McClean Play a Bigger Game: How to change your life in 90 days
STUCK in a dead end job? Feeling like you’re just existing day after day?
You may be suffering a serious case of stuck in a rut. Luckily for you, it can be cured in as little as little as 90 days and in seven easy steps.

However before you take this path to recovery know there’s one big thing standing in the way of changing your life and that is you.
While it may sound obvious, motivational speaker, author, and business consultant Randy McLean said anyone could change their life in as little as 90 days if they were willing to put the work in.
Mr McLean said the two biggest reasons we get stuck in a rut in the first place was because we constantly compared ourselves to others and to what they have.
The second big thing affecting our overall happiness and feeling of being stuck was judgment, both of other people and ourselves.
“It takes longer than 90 days to change your life really,” he told news.com.au.

“But this is a good start. You don’t see a lot of change in 30 days and sometimes not even 60 as it’s not long enough to see a result. But 90 is a good space of time to see change.”
For example, a person on a diet is likely to see better results in 90 days rather than a month.
Mr McLean said if people set themselves a new goal every three months they could make four big changes in one year.
“Imagine looking back over five years and thinking ‘wow, look what I’ve achieved’,” he said.
He said it was also important for people to realise things in life never came to them and no one woke up an overnight success.
“Being stuck in a rut is not forever, it’s a moment in time,” the author of Play a Bigger Game Checklist said.
“The footballer doesn’t wake up an instant success, he works at it. We all have the ability to create a new you.”
He added the reason so many people remained unhappy and stuck in life was because of their own way of thinking.
“Changing your mindset is acknowledging that only you have the influence to change what comes next.
“Comparing yourself to what others have will only make you unhappy as will judging others because if you judge others you’ll also judge yourself.”

Mr McClean, who spends the year between Sydney, the Gold Coast and Santa Monica, said the biggest mistake most people made was waiting for things to come to them.
“It’s not up to other people, it’s up to you,’ he said.
He said losing motivation in life wasn’t unique to individuals and that everyone went through feeling as if they were stuck in a rut at some point in their lives.
But he said people could get their mojo back in seven steps.
1. KNOW YOU ARE NOT YOUR PAST
Mr McClean said people can’t go back and start a new beginning but could have a better future but that “you have to make that choice.”
“Once you have made that choice there are a few other things you can do to help you get on the path to success,” he said.
2. LEARN THE ART OF POSSIBILITY
According to the motivational speaker, developing a possibility mindset is a powerful tool in helping people achieve results, adding it was important to keep things realistic.
“Developing a possibility mindset is just changing the way you think about what shows up in your world,” he said.
“Every time something happens you can either take a cynical view or a possibility view.”

3. BE AWARE OF DREAM STEALERS
These aren’t people who come into your bedroom at night and take away happy dreams, rather it’s those who seem to be experts on everything and find the bad in all of it.
“They will share with you everything that could possibly go wrong and come undone,” he said.
His advice is to get rid of these people for at least 90 days and disconnect completely.
4. DO ONE THING
A common mistake for many of us is taking on too much and then getting down when they don’t come to fruition.
“When you have just one thing to work on you can focus all your excitement, energy and enthusiasm on that one thing,” he said.
“It increases your chances of success massively.”
5. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS
Mr McLean said people often talk about amazing goals and achievements but do nothing to make them a reality.
He said the best way to build trust and respect was to do what you say every time.
“Let your behaviours demonstrate who you are and what you stand for rather than your mouth,” he said.
6. GET SUPPORT
The biggest mistake people make is not looking for help along the way, Mr McLean said.
“If you don’t look for help and support in this journey, you are crazy,” he said.
“In this wonderful age of information, there are some awesome tools that will make it easy for you to smash your goals.”
7. PLAY ALL IN
His final piece of advice is don’t do things half-hearted as you’ll only ever get wishy washy results. He said it was vital people went after things with everything they had.
“For most people success is just around the corner, but they don’t go hard enough to get to the corner,” he said.
