Planted Chayote in the a pot.

I used potting mix + compost..

I notice it started showing roots.
Before putting it in soil, it was not able to thrive, and showing signs of wilting in the leaves.

If a plant/seed does not grow roots, it can't get water/nutrients from the soil.
Therefor it won't thrive/ grow.

The seed only can provide it some nutrients to start with.
